About Al

Al Cuevas took his first cleaning job as a junior in high school in 1987, became a district manager in 1996 and founded United Facilities Group in Santa Clara in 1998. He studied psychology and business administration while buffing floors and cleaning windows, and that pairing of people and performance is still how he runs the company.

Al's story is the company's story: front-line work first, then leadership. He has kept UFG family-owned and privately held since its founding.

What Al does at UFG

As CEO and Founder, Al sets the strategy and supports colleagues, from the night crew to senior managers. He removes obstacles, backs the coaches and supports promotion from within.

Signature achievements

Grew UFG from a small local operation into a regional facility services company serving healthcare, technology, education, manufacturing and corporate clients across Northern California.
Built the career-development programmes that promote from within and keep turnover well below the industry's.
